Cougar Boys 10-year-old Team Join the WSBL
Manager Andy Spencer announced on November 20, 2006 that the 2007 Cougar 10-year-old
baseball team has officially joined the new West Suburban Baseball League (WSBL). For ten-year-olds the WSBL has the following primary rules:
- Six innings are played.
- Bases are sixty-five feet.
- Pitcher's mound is forty-six feet from the plate.
- Pitchers are limited to throwing two innings per game. There is no weekly limit for the number of games the pitcher may throw.
- Pitchers can only hit a maximum of two batters per inning.
- For balks, pitchers will receive only one warning per game.
- Dropped third strike rule goes into effect during the second half of the season.
- Slaughter rule is ten runs after four innings.
