Cougars Win 2007 13U Cougars Classic

John Trumble's 13-year-olds began their 2007 Cougar Classic tournament with a loss, but ultimately finished with a huge win to capture their first place trophies. Pool play began with a loss to the Edgebrook Bulldogs after the Bulldogs completed a 4-run rally in the bottom of the 7th inning. From this point on the boys went on a roll. In Game 2 the Cougars defeated the St. Charles Knights with a 12 - 4 victory, followed by an 8 - 0 victory over the Burr Ridge/Willowbrook team. Pool play finished up against the Highwood Braves and an 11 - 6 victory. Our Cougars completed pool play with a 3 - 1 record and a 2nd place finish in the "Blue" pool.

In the semi-finals the Cougars went on to play the 1st place finisher in the "Red" pool, the Niles Junior Wolves and were victorious with a 4 - 2 final score. In the championship game the Cougars faced the Wheatland Ducks. With an all around great pitching and defensive performance, the Cougars forged ahead to win with another 4 - 2 victory to achieve their crown as the 2007 Cougar Classic Champs.
