Welcome
Cougars Win 2007 10U Cougars Classic
In most social situations, like inviting people to your home for dinner, it's best
not to show-up your guests. However, in the case of competitive youth travel baseball
you play with heart and you play to win, especially when you invite other gifted
teams to your tournament. So in other words it is perfectly acceptable
to show-up your guests! Playing with heart and playing to win is exactly
what the ten-year-old Cougars did on the weekend of July 13 - 15th at Elmhurst's
Salt Creek and Plunkett parks. The 2007 10U Cougar Classic included some excellent
boys' baseball teams, such as the Norridge Future who
went 21 and 1 in their 2007
Mid Suburban Baseball League (MSBL) season.
The ten-year-old Cougars compiled a 4 and 1 record in their tournament. The
single loss was to the Hurricanes from McHenry County, Illinois in the Cougars tournament
opener. After beating Bensenville and Wheatland to close pool play the Cougars
rebounded against McHenry in the semis in a close game. In an all-Elmhurst
final the Cougars defeated cross-town rival the Extreme to secure first place.
The ten-year-old Cougars wish to thank all of the teams that participated in their
2007 tournament: McHenry County Hurricanes, Wheatland Ducks, Bensenville All Stars,
Iowa's Barnstormers Sluggers, Norridge Future, Downers Grove Longshots, and the
Elmhurst Extreme. Kudos go to the Elmhurst Extreme for taking second place
and the McHenry County Hurricanes for taking third.
