The Elmhurst Cougar Baseball & Softball Club is an independent organization of
traveling teams from Elmhurst, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. Formed in
1992, the Cougars are Elmhurst's original travel boys baseball and girls
fastpitch softball organization. We stress baseball and softball instruction and
fun, while playing at a more competitive level.
It is our philosophy, along with the skills of our board of directors, managers
and coaches, which make us a feeder organization to the baseball and softball
programs at York, Immaculate Conception, and Timothy Christian high schools.
Elmhurst Cougar games are played both home and away against teams of similar
skill and philosophy in the Chicago metropolitan area. In preparation for a
forty - sixty game schedule the Cougars begin practices in January. The
spring/summer Cougar season runs from April to late July each year; after a
short break our girls softball teams play in the Autumn. Our boys teams are
members of the
West Suburban Baseball League, and our girls softball teams are members of
the
West Suburban Girls Softball League. Additionally, the Cougars make
appearances in multiple tournaments within the Chicagoland area; we also make
occassional out-of-state appearances such as our annual 12U trip to the
Cooperstown Dreams Park.
